Lyrics to The Unraveling Tapestry
The Unraveling Tapestry Video:
Standing in the snow on a winters day
The storm blowing east was kind of enough to freeze my blood and split seams in my face
I thought back to when I started scribbling down the words I thought could make a sound
Then laid back along the dunes lining the beach
The comforting breeze on a warm summer night, shooting stars above the sea
I held shut my eyes and when I opened them the sun was shining on me and friends
Saw beams of light connecting the sky to the sound
Swaying in the waves was a dancer, graceful, forever unbound
The picture now etched into my jealous brain, oh I know I'll be you someday
And then I slipped into a dream, planting seeds in memory, linking time unconsciously until the weight of my brain's too much and sinks into my body
Walking up the road in unknown terrain
To revisit a song and feeling I needed and could not let escape
And when it did and all the leaves turned brown I pictured us driving through town
It's funny when you think about how I almost slipped up and gave it away, it surely would have ended that time
And now all I ever think about is stretching my emotions out
So if I go and wait it out but don't succeed will I spend all my days searching for a needle in a card stack or be free?
Well there were times when I'd surround myself with people who could pick it out
At the time a morning drive is on my mind
I've never had better days, and I'll be in debt to you for the rest of mine
Hop on a bike, get lost, find our way out, there's always more to talk about
In a dim and silent scene we were stumbling through the streets and I'll wait so patiently to be crawling again and go blind as I leave it all behind me
