Lyrics to The Girl
The Girl Video:
Once upon a time in a sick twisted world
Is the story of a mother and her sad little girl
They lived all alone in a tiny little town
Her mom seemed real nice, but when no one was around
She really tried to hurt her
Poisoned her with curses

The girl came to school with scratches down her arms
With bruises on her face, and pain inside her heart
She really loved her mom, but often wondered why
She made it seem as though she wanted her to die
She caused so much destruction
It was really hard to function

She told her friends that she'd fallen down the stairs
She'd crashed her rollerblades and skinned her knees bare
She made so much excuses, told so many stories
Finally one day, her friends began to worry
They knew how she treated her
Knew her mother beat on her

They went to the police and told about their friend
How the punishing, the beating never seemed to end
The cops would do nothing but turn their backs away
They said that they were sorry, they had no say
"But her mom is gonna hurt her!"
"She's going to get murdered!"

"I'm sorry girls, but there's nothing we can do,
And if I say so myself, you really have no proof"
The next day, the girl was terrified again
"Why's my mother hate me, when will it end?"
There was nothing they could tell her
They'd really tried to help her

But one day, the girl never showed up at school
Her friends tried to call her, no answer- not cool
They couldn't get ahold of her all day or night
Something was unnatural, somthing wasn't right
"I wonder what has happened?"
"Where the hell is my friend?"

They finally heard the truth but found it hard to believe
The girl had fought with her mom, then tried to run and leave
But before she had the chance, her mother grabbed a knife
She knocked her to the ground and took her daughter's life
How could someone slaughter
Their very own daughter?

Don't think that this can't happen to you
If someone you know is being abused
Don't think that there is nothing you can do
You can save their life by telling someone...
