Lyrics to Empty Picture Frames
Empty Picture Frames Video:
Empty picture frames are covering my bedroom floor,
their former contents elsewhere and out of my sight.
The sound of the highway is pressing the area just behind my eyes and I can't sleep.
It's so cold, sometimes I wish that I smoked.
At least the glowing ember would serve as a companion,
because no one is around these days.
But, even light, I know, it all fades away.

The steel of a gas-pump peels off a layer of my skin as I give away yet another paycheck. As I leave the store, I swear I see you falling with snow as if within the millions of flakes, there's a pattern that could suit only you.
I fail to blink and a layer of frost covers my eyes.
Through them, I can see my breath following after yours.
I want to wet our hair and watch it freeze
and shatter against the sides of buildings that make up this town
where you will never be found.

With the amount of time it takes this engine to warm, another moment passes by and flickers just below the snow that covers the road that is taking me home.

I don't want to go.
