Lyrics to Empty
Empty Video:
There's a person who's left with no choices, but chooses anyway. We make every effort not to become him, but do so everyday. Distance isn't a problem, because his world is closing in, and he works overtime for the nickel and dime, and some pockets to put them in. He's told that life is a contest, and he dreams of when he's won. But a part of him knows where he's been, and realizes; He's tired of feeling empty. But he feels it anyway. And it rolls around inside his mind: is this old age? He's tired of feeling useless but he feels it anyway, and he tows the line to ease his mind and blames old age. It's not a lack of chances that holds him, because the only ones he had, felt like every road converged on one, disappointing truth, that there is nothing there, life is empty. So he worked even harder, and hated everyday. Always refusing ever to admit the words the forlorn are forced to say- that what seems like the chance to make life take shape for you, is just another chance to show how much you are a fool. He's tired of feeling empty, tired of being abused, tired of being the only one who ever feels that he's being used. Tired of feeling sorry, tired of being ashamed, tired of being left for dead, and promised that he'll be saved. He's tired of feeling empty. But he feels it anyway. And it rolls around inside his mind: is this old age? He's tired of feeling useless but he feels it anyway, and he tows the line to ease his mind and blames old age.
