Amanda Wilkinson is a standout. As signature vocalist for The Wilkinsons, working with brother Tyler and dad Steve, she has achieved a level of success and recognition rarely attained by young recording artists. And she is just getting started.

Amanda literally grew up singing in the family band and realized at the tender age of six that music made people happy - "That's when I knew what I wanted to do with my life."

Her life, so far, includes:

1. relocating with her family to Nashville in 1997

2. an ensuing appearance by The Wilkinsons at a Nashville nightclub that led to competitive bidding by seven top record labels to immediately sign the fledgling act

3. charting "26? as a top single from their first album

4. touring extensively, appearing on stage and television and garnering a loyal and devoted legion of fans in the process.

Amanda recalls singing before 60,000 people shortly after the release of The Wilkinsons debut album; ".for as far as I could see, everybody was singing along.I just about lost it."

The Wilkinsons have also gathered an impressive collection of accolades from recording industry associations. The Juno Awards, The Canadian Country Music Awards, The Country Music Association, The Academy of Country Music and The Grammy Awards immediately, and have repeatedly, recognized the talent of Amanda and The Wilkinsons.

Now, 21 year-old Amanda is stepping forward with a solo recording on Universal South Records.

"We are so proud that Amanda decided to join us at Universal South. She's a wonderful singer with a huge future," comments Tim DuBois, Universal South Senior Partner.

"I've been a major fan of Amanda's for years," says Tony Brown, Universal South Senior Partner and producer for Amanda's inaugural solo effort. "I'm excited about going into the studio with such a great singer. I think there's a lot of curiosity about what Amanda will do on her own project."

That curiosity promises to be rewarded as Amanda vows to pursue heartfelt exploration of new sounds while remaining true to her Country roots. A fan of artists ranging from John Fogerty to Etta James, she possesses a true appreciation for the work of singers preceding her in popular music, a perspective fostered by dad, Steve, who exposed Amanda and brother Tyler to various styles of music throughout their young lives. Mix those musical influences up with a girl who loves to read Dean Koontz, J.R.R Tolkein and Shakespeare, listen to the ocean and savor the aroma of a good cup of coffee, and you just know her new collection of music will be sublime and passionate.
