Compiled of five people united by faith. Five people bound by the ethic of the hardcore scene. ALFE has set out upon a very specific mission. To educate with love, to minimize misconceptions: To incorporate their belief in Jesus Christ into their music with out ever forcing it down anyone’s throat. With influences ranging from the Cure to slayer, ALFE has given birth to an ever-evolving mixture of hardcore, metal, and straight up rock and roll. The live show is an extension of the passion the band has for music and for their faith. With breakdowns readily available and fun sing a longs, the crowd feeds the energy the band emits. Alove for enemies has released two CD’s thus far, the first, the truth of trumpets EP, released in December of 2001 on Polytope Records. The second, the broken pledge EP, released December of 2003 on Strike First Records. With an upcoming schedule of relentless touring; the band will continue to take their message to the streets. Appearances this summer will include the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois, the Sonshine Festival in Minnesota and the Bottle Rocket Festival in Michigan. With numerous tours and two releases under their belt, ALFE plans on continuing to tour and write music together for years to come, and hopefully score a much needed victory for positivity in an ever- degrading world of negativity. You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “ - luke 6:41-42 Alove For Enemies is an idea; an idea that goes beyond the boundaries of music and into ministry. Ministry?, you say, well we know a lot of you out there have a bad taste in your mouth when it comes to christian ministry. Maybe it was because you witnessed a “money making” scam, or ministries blowing up abortion clinics, etc. That is why ALFE exists. To break down the walls of misconception, to mend the line between speculation and truth. We are christians, we believe in Jesus; and we will never fall away from that conviction. however, we are not here to judge people, or to force our beliefs on anyone; rather we are here to educate people, to show them, to the best of our ability, the real side of christianity. To be a christian is to be “Christlike” , here is a man (historically) who loved everyone regardless of race,sex,age, or creed. We have set our goal to be the same way. Accepting of everyone at any time, while professing our beliefs in a non-threating, non-alienating way; and also remaining strong in our convictions. We love hardcore music, we love Jesus. And hardcore to us, is to take a stand on something, whether it be straightedge, animal rights, anything you believe in, hardcore gives you the forum to do that in. This is who we are, and what we stand for. |
